Regarding Jonathan Sprauge’s leave from Steam Powered Giraffe.
It’s been quite obvious from taking a peek in the tags that everyone has taken a hit from this news. I was informed about it while I was at school, and honestly I was not as torn as many in the community are right now, but I’m still sad to hear we’ll be seeing no more of the beloved Spraugester.
Jon has contributed 6+ years of providing the necessary steps to help shape what the group has turned into today and those 6 years kicked some serious ass, and I thank him for that. Professionally, things were not working out for Jon, and at one point something needed to be done. I send my utmost support to Sprauge on his future projects and endeavors as well as Steam Powered Giraffes’. Yes, this is somber note to end this chapter of the bands’ history but we should turn the blank canvas ahead and look to the positives. Now, all of us have even more to look towards as the troupe drives on forward, growing with each release with new music, new ideas, and new experiences for all to enjoy!

Sooo, I noticed that this hadn’t been done yet, but I thought it was a good idea! Basically, since the SPG fandom is a pretty close-knit little group, I figured that maaaybe we needed a way to know if there are fans in the vicinity of other fans! I think this would make setting up meetups so much easier, and it would be a great way to make new friends within the community!
